Burchills were involved in the original “Lakeview at Mermaid” development for the former owners, Leslie Corporation (Interstate) Pty Ltd and were responsible for the initial planning and environmental applications for the project, detailed civil designs and approvals for the establishment of the current lakes, land parcels and roadworks infrastructure on the site.
The overall site area covers approximately 42.0 Ha, which includes around 13.34 Ha of existing lakes.
The current Sunland masterplan allows for approximately 1,405 residential entitlements, in a mix of residential canal-front allotments, medium density townhouse precincts and mid-rise residential towers up to 12 storeys, plus an extension of the existing commercial precincts in the north-western portion of the site, to be known as “The Lanes”. Overall project value is anticipated to be approximately $850m.
Burchills were subsequently commissioned by Sunland Group as the Civil Engineering Consultants to provide engineering design, flood-modelling and hydraulic impact assessments (using TUFLOW), lake water quality testing and reporting, stormwater management plans, civil services drawings and associated reports.
The scope of detailed civil designs for the development included design of roadworks and civil services (including internal and external upgrade works), design of lake-edge revetments, pathways and foreshore areas.
