Structural Engineering

Burchills are currently engaged by the City of Gold Coast to provide specialist engineering services to support a footbridge upgrade in Tallebudgera. Burchills have been involved throughout the project from concept planning, through to detailed design.

We have undertaken site investigations, hydraulic study, civil and structural assessment, options analysis, construction costing, with the final deliverable being detailed design for the replacement of Coplick pedestrian bridge and associated shared path connection to an arterial road.

The bridge traverses the Tallebudgera Creek as Scotty Logan Lane, Tallebudgera Valley, and in 2017 the City determined that the structure had reached the end of its serviceable life and replacement was required. Our scope also covered bridge engineering services to support a footbridge upgrade option assessment and associated share path. Burchills undertook investigations, structural design concepts, options analysis, design costings, and a structural planning report for the replacement of Coplick pedestrian bridge. More recently we have continued onto Detailed Design of the bridge, shared path and approaches include scour protection.

Burchills Engineering Solutions were engaged by Liquid Blu Pty Ltd to provide specialist water, civil, and structural engineering services to support a proposed Miami Aquatic Centre Redevelopment located at 80 Pacific Ave, Miami QLD 4220.

The scope of work for the proposed redevelopment comprised design and documentation for earthworks, carpark grading, stormwater drainage, structures design and assessment of the existing services onsite. Drawings and reports were used to enable the project to be tendered and constructed.

The Redevelopment itself proposed demolition of an existing 50m pool, construction of a new 50m pool, administration/ amenities buildings, indoor program pool, zero depth splash pool, pool plant building, and carparking.

Burchills have been engaged by Deicke Richards (Logan City Council) to deliver structural engineering services for the Yarrabilba District Community Centre.

The project consisted of three (3) separable buildings with one linking roof. the buildings are designed with concrete slab on ground, brickwork walls and steel columns, and steel framed roof. the civil design includes underground services plus an asphalt car park, wheelchair ramps connecting all three buildings as well as sandstone retaining walls. The team will provide all design and documentation services necessary for the construction of all elements associated with the construction of the Community Centre building and all associated site works and landscaping.
